Badlands/Wall,SD

Well we finally left home on 8/27 in the PM. We drove till 7:00PM and stayed in Walmart in Waterloo,IA. On Thursday we drove all day to get to Wall,SD. We had forgotten how tacky Wall Drug is.
Today we visited Minuteman Missile NHS and Badlands NP. The tour at Minuteman takes you 30 feet down to a hardened launch facility operational from 1963-1993 when the SALT Treaty was signed. They show you how those guys with the keys and codes lived. You also get to look down at a missile still in it's silo. No warhead, of course.
The Badlands were beautiful. We did a few short hikes. Saw Bison(don't call them buffalo!), Pronghorn Antelope, and thousands of Prairie Dogs. Geri took tons of pictures .
Tomorrow it's on to Grand Teton andYellowstone NPs.

Great photos! I knew Uncle Ed Strugala was correct when he said "I don't have to travel to the Grand Canyon. I can see it on the Discover Channel!" :)??!!
